Take a glossy, efficient firm with professionals chatting in informed witty dialogue – then imagine the opposite and you have The Office. David Brent is the boss that everyone loves to hate. He’s smug, politically incorrect and talks entirely in clichés. He sees himself as a team leader and tries to win the loyalty of his staff with his appalling sense of humour. His staff don’t like him and spend most of their time playing hilarious pranks on each other. The Office is everything you never want to encounter, but probably have.
